Ooopsie daisy!!!

Saturday, December 9th, 2000

Well, sorry to inform you of this news, but due to double booking by the venue, the Hungry Lucy September 22nd show in Alameda @ The Minnow has been cancelled. We hope to find a venue to play before the end of the year, but if not, perhaps we’ll see everyone in the New Year. Our apologies for anyone who planned on coming to the show. We are using our energy we had saved for the show and are applying it to the new Hungry Lucy album. So, not a bad ending afterall :) Stay loopy!!! Love, HL

HUNGRY LUCY have completed a remix of “In A Better Land” that is released on the rising German synth pop act NO COMMENT’s new mini-cd entitled “Little Boy e.p.” released by Nanopop. Autumnal fruit

Saturday, December 9th, 2000

We have been busy working with many people on our big, ever-growing side project called thorn apple. We are but a couple of apples in this big bunch, and the others are: Shawn Brice & I-Li Chang of bloodWIRE, Evan Sornstein, Patrick O’Connor, and Fonta Hadley of Axoe, Ryan and Rebecca Cosboom of Halou, Maria Azevedo of Dia, and the list keeps growing. The sound of thorn apple is best described as “wintery”. Mixing up the typical order of things, we try to work with people outside our usual arrangement. In doing this, we have made some really beautiful music thus far. We’ve got many songs in the works, and you can go hear some of them NOW!!! We really think you’ll like what you hear, and if you feel like doing so, tell us what you think :)

Hungry Lucy are currently in the studio working on new material for a follow up to “Apparitions”. So far about 13 songs are written. The plan is to write plenty of songs and then select the best to release. Both members are very excited about the direction of the new material. While staying true to the HL style, several interesting surprises are in store! The new album, tentatively titled “glo” should be released early 2002. Stay tuned for more info and audio previews.
