The Philadelphia Experience

Wednesday, May 29th, 2002

Well, we made it!! Fighting off food poisoning, nearly getting lost and many other obstacles, we managed to make it to play at Dracula’s Ball!! Once we safely arrived in Philadelphia, things got much smoother. Special thanks to Patrick Rodgers for asking us to play in the first place. We were just happy we could finally say yes…even though it was hairy there for a while with War-N’s food poisoning…EEEK!! He is a pleasure to work with and just to be around :) Also, a big thanks to everyone who came out to see little ol’ us!!

On a personal note, I just wanted to thank my sisters for coming all the way to Philly with me. Angie, you made the performance even better than I could imagine!! And Shara, just you being there made it better!! Also, thank you Marcus, Stephanie, Steve and Peter & Carol Harrison (you know…the ones responsible for War-N…I know I am grateful!!!). It meant a lot to us to have you all there. It was a special time we all shared together. Thanks for being there :)

We have some visuals for you, and many more to come, in the photo section . Shots of the actual performance will follow within a week or so and we’ll keep you posted on that.

I, Christa Belle, did manage to take some great shots of The Dreamside which are posted here . They were EXCELLENT!! I was very impressed. It was very theatrical and very beautiful…they even had fire!!

In addition to all that goodness, Trevor was able to get enough funds to visit his homeland in the near future…YAY!! Now he’s a happy boy…and so are we :) Thanks to all who paid patronage to our booth. We really appreciate it!! Thanks to Blue (sorry Trevor bit you…i think he was just nervous!!) and the lovely young lady running the booth with him (Strysta or something??)…I’m so sorry I can’t for the life of me remember your name for sure. But, thank you too!!!

We are also happy to report that at our next show, in Pittsburgh once again, we will be performing even more new material. Go visit Club Laga and find out all the juicy details. The always lovely Kelly Ashkettle will be hosting that event. We will be one of four bands that night, so it’ll be a great chance to hear lots of great bands LIVE!!

You will also be happy to know we are still working on the new album, “Glo”, and look forward to releasing it SOON. Still no date as of yet, but it’s coming together just beautifully.

I suppose that is all for now. Look for updates and a newsletter real soon!! Thanks again for all who attended Dracula’s Ball. It was a wonderful experience for all of us!!

AND…last, but not least…a LARGE thanks to Sam Marotta of trigger10d and Thomas Loeper for coming out and videoing the performance. It was so great to finally meet them!!! More will follow on that.

Until we meet again, always remember… You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, you can even pick your friend’s nose. But, you can’t turn right on red when posted!!! GOOD NIGHT!!! (I’ll be here all zee veek…)

Large Love and Thanks,

Christa Belle & War-N

Thank You Patrick!!!

Dracula’s Ball Time!!!!

Sunday, May 19th, 2002

Just a friendly reminder to come see us perform at Dracula’s Ball on Sunday May 26th with The Dreamside flying in all the way from their homeland of Germany to perform for you! Tickets are still available through many fine retailers so go get one!! Chances of a sell out show are quite possible with Projekt Fest also in town that very same weekend. Don’t miss your chance!! If there are still tickets available at the door, chances are slim, they will be $17.

We have quite a set list ready for your aural pleasure. A generous amount of the songs we’ll be performing are new and previously unreleased (as of yet…). I just can’t stress enough that you NEED to come see us!! If you don’t, Trevor will get angry…you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry! For those of you who, for some reason, don’t know who Trevor is…well you’ll just have to meet him at the show!! He’s still pretty homesick (he’s from California and comes from an excellent family) so he’s pretty testy when provoked. Make Trevor happy…come to the show!!! We’re trying to fly him home for a vacation, so you can make donations to him at our merchandise booth by buying our stuff!!

I guess that’s enough for now. You know what has to be done…so DO IT!! :)

With Love,

Hungry Lucy…and Trevor

Thank You Pittsburgh!!

Welp, we played our Pittsburgh show and, though the turnout was minimal, it was a well received show by those who attended. A special thanks to Fred Banks of Hexagon Records and The Rex Theatre for setting us up and being so friendly and professional!!

We got to meet the members of the bands The Impaler, who were very fun to watch on stage and, Zombi who were amazingly unique and great to listen to (reminiscent of Air and Tangerine Dream). I admire Zombi’s use of analogue equipment and the abilities of the members themselves. It was a lot for two people to do but they do it just beautifully!! We were surrounded with talent and nice people. It was an overall GREAT night!!

Pittsburgh would not have been such a success without the help of “THE MAN” …Justin!! Thanks so much for being there, then and always, to help us out and support us so fully! YOU ROCK!!!

Don’t forget about our next gig in Philadelphia… Dracula’s Ball featuring The Dreamside from Germany. We will open for them at approximately 10:35 pm with Dj Macross and DJ Batty spinning the night away!! Definitely a night not to be missed if you are in the Philly area on May 26th!!

Thanks so much to all those who did show up in Pittsburgh. Maybe we will see you again when we play at Club Laga on June 29th! (Above pic taken by and courtesy of DJ Kelly Ashkettle …thank you!!)

Take care!!

Love, Hungry Lucy
