Just an update to let you know we are VERY hard at work in the studio with the follow-up album to “Apparitions” entitled “Glo”. We have 7 songs finished and many more after that to decide what goes on the album. As with “Apparitions”, the styles vary but still have a distinct flavour. The new song styles range from jazz influences to down tempo grooves. We hope you’ll all be pleased with the new stuff!!

War-N is also working on a remix for the Belgian band Lunascape. I’ve heard it, and it’s friggin’ AWESOME!! All of their songs are wonderfully delicious :)

The German band Chandeen have done a mellow remix of our new song “Open Window” for future release with the new album “Glo”. As with Lunascape, their songs are NOT to be missed!! All the loverly female vocals over lush music. Makes me all a quiver just thinking about it!! Thank you both for such wonderful music!

In other news, it’s too darn tootin’ hot!! Therefore, we stay inside and work on the album. Sunlight bad, music good ;) The big board with those numbers that say how hot it is outside said it was 100 degrees yesterday!! Geez man…gimme a break!!! I can’t wait for our first Winter in 2 years. I want to be so cold my legs nearly fall off.

Anyhoo, we’ll keep you posted on our progress of the album. We may need your help in the near future, so keep your eyes and ears open!

Until next time, try your clever hand at burping the alphabet (drinking lots of cola-type drinks helps in this area…trust me!!). It’s such a treat! And, if you get all the way through, it’s such a feeling of accomplishment :)

Take care,

Hungry Lucy

More pics from Club Laga show

Just an update to show you the pictures shot by Kelly Ashkettle of our Pittsburgh show at Club Laga. Some great ones of War-N!! Go HERE to see them!! The new ones are from halfway down the second page on :)

Also, since we’ve had an overwhelming response to the first vote in our “Glo Poll”, we will be putting up the next question in about a week or so. We’ve come farther than we thought with the album, so the release of “Glo” may not be too much farther off :) Still no official date as of yet, but we will most certainly let you know!!

Take care, and thanx for voting!!

Love, Hungry Lucy

Club Laga pickies and such…

Wednesday, July 10th, 2002

So sorry for the delay, but i have now put up the great shots from our live performance at Club Laga, June 26th, 2002. They were taken by the superb Sam Marotta of trigger10d and some video clips will be available soon too!! Thanks Sam!!!

Just so ya know what we’re doing, as we speak, we are in the studio working on new tunes for “Glo” :) Believe us, it makes us just as happy as you. We will be performing in the Fall, but have taken these next couple months to devote entirely to the making of “Glo”. From what we’ve done thus far, I don’t think anyone will be disappointed, but ya never can tell!!

That’s about it for now. And, just in case you don’t know, there’s a new version of the recently released song “Storm” on our 1sound.com site for your listening pleasure. If we did tell you before, TUFF!! We just told you AGAIN!!

Nah, but seriously folks. We love each of our fans and love that you give us such personal feedback. If it weren’t for you, there’d be no reason to get up at all. Thanx!!

Until next time, please, PLEASE wash hands before returning to work. I mean REALLY…do you HAVE to be told??

Take care,

Hungry Lucy…and a “coming around” Trevor. At least he’s speaking again :)

Go visit Sam!!!!

Hometown lovin’

Friday, July 5th, 2002

Our debut “hometown” performance far exceeded our expectations as cincy crowds proved that they can “show the love” just as well as any other! A HUGE thanx to each of you that came out for the show and stopped by to say hello at the merchandise table.

Extreme thanx also go to Bob and Steve for organizing the show and doing such a great job of keeping everything together, to Dave for allowing us to take over Warehouse for the night, to Ward and the wonderful folks from CSI Production Concepts who made us sound good. Last but DEFINITELY NOT least a massive thanx to Neurepublik and The Azoic for sharing the stage with us and workin’ it so well! If you get a chance to check these bands out live … DO IT!

This performance will be the last one for the Summer as we get the next album done. Once “Glo” is ready to roll … we’ll be hitting every stage we can get our grubby little paws on!

stay loopy!

How’d it go in Pittsburgh you ask?

Monday, July 1st, 2002

Well, it was GREAT!! Not only did we do fairly well, all the other bands (ThouShaltNot, Mistle Thrush and Bella Morte) were friggin’ awesome!! They were all so much fun to watch and sounded superb. A great time was had by all :)

We wanted to thank the always lovely Kelly Ashkettle for being such a gracious hostess!! She ROCKS!!! My only disappointment was that I did NOT get to hear her spin downstairs at Ceremony :( We did get to hear a mixed CD she made for the “in between bands” time and that was great…as i expected. We plan to go back to Pittsburgh in the near future just for a visit. I plan to hear her spin then ;) Also, thanks to all the folks running sound, lights and foggin’ effects at Club Laga. You were all superb and lovely in every way!!! No one should EVER yell at or be mean to you!! If they do, we’ll duff ‘em up for ya ;) Big thanks to all there!!

A few more thanks to go…be patient!! Thank you Mr. Sam Marotta (of the lovely band trigger10d) for taking pics and video clips. They came out all nice and pretty…and lots of War-N too…YAY!!!! Sam and company drove all the way from Chicago just to be there. They are what you’d call devoted fans and friends :) We shall be posting the lovely pics we speak of within a week’s time. Thanks again Sam!!!

Now, for another special thank you. Thank you Justin for running our merchandise table, and just for being there for moral support. WE LOVE YA!!!

Now, for some rather offensive news. We couldn’t believe it happened, and that we did it ourselves, but we left our beloved Trevor under the seat in the car THE WHOLE TIME!!! He’s still not speaking to us and refuses to take any phone calls or read any email. So, for those who keep writing, he’ll probably write back sooner or later. Just give him some time to recover. I hope he doesn’t try to run away again. We’re SOOO sorry Trevor!! It will NEVER happen again…we PROMISE!!!

One last item. Don’t forget to come down to da city of Cincinnati for our last Summer show!! It’ll be a great time and The Azoic and Neurepublik (OOPS!! I spelled your name wrong in the last news item…I’m so sorry.) will be there too!! It’ll be held at The Faktory in The Warehouse at 1313 Vine Street in Cincinnati Ohio. If you can make it, JOIN US!!!

I think I’ve updated everything thus far. Oh, the “Square Matrix” discs are selling fairly well. Don’t be left out…go get one NOW in our store before it’s too late!! Oh, and just so you know, the original versions of those songs will be at the regular Hungry Lucy speed…with the exception of “Her Song (Radio edit)” and “Fearful” (original still in progress). Some of you have asked if all of our new stuff will sound that way and the answer is “NO”. We will still have our laid back, down tempo, trip-goth sound that you have grown to love so much. “Square Matrix” is a remix disc. Therefore, it is directed toward the club scene. It’s nice to be heard on both ends of the spectrum :) Speaking of down tempo, a new version of “Storm”is up on our MP3.com site for your listening pleasure. Let us know what you think!!

Ok, that’s all for now. Hmmm…how do I end this one?? Perhaps with a bit-o-wisdom?? Perhaps not…I’m too tired!!

With love and loopiness!!!

Hungry Lucy…and an ANGRY Trevor
