Last night (Nov. 21, 2005) Hungry Lucy won the Cincinnati Entertainment Award in the Electronic/Experimental category. What a very cool event this was and a total reaffirmation of the strong musical community Cincinnati has. After the initial shock wore off we had a blast.
Well, we played our last show of 2005 last Wed. (Nov.16). You can watch the video about it here. Although it was kinda sad to play the final notes of To Kill a King, it’ll be really nice to focus on writing and recording for a few months. We finished arranging and tracking vocals for a new song last night. This particular song (tentatively titled “We Won’t Go”) moved to the top of the queue as it will appear (exclusively) on a special compilation CD. More details will be revealed on that one in due time. It features some of Christa’s most ambitious vocal leaps (she still manages to amaze me), an accordian and a Kalimba (blame Imogen Heap for the influence).
We plan to document the making of this next CD online via blog posts, podcasts and vidcasts. Now that I’ve said that publically, we’ll have to deliver!
stay loopy!

We have set up a new blog/podcast site for Hungry Lucy. It will be used to post all of our news, blog posts, and podcasts and (most importantly) give you an easy way to post comments. While it’s not terribly pretty right now, it will be integrated into a new website design over time.
On the note of podcasts, we now have a couple in the works. A standard audio podcast and a video podcast named “video to go”. Here we will post music videos, live performances and behind the scenes footage. The first and second “episodes” are available now via this site, or via iTunes.
So … stay tuned as this site will certainly fill out before too long. Be sure to give us feedback on what we’re doing right or wrong and what you’d like to see up here.
Without getting up on too much of a soapbox here, I urge everyone to check out the most recent podcast from Knightwise.com. Partly because it features quite a bit of Hungry Lucy… but (far more importantly) as it sheds some light on the current state of the music industry, and what we can all do to help change it.
Go … listen … NOW!
The first Hungry Lucy "video to go" is Hungry Lucy’s music video for their song “Softly”. Original version appears on Hungry Lucy’s album, "To Kill a King".
