Tea with Hungry Lucy podcast - Episode 15

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

Tea with Hungry LucyEpisode 15 of Tea with Hungry Lucy is the “Bound in Blood” special, where War-N and Christa pay much respect to the song that started Hungry Lucy … 8 years ago! The duo discuss the various versions of the song and it’s lyrical meaning. 3 different versions are included in the podcast (sick of it yet?) :) Christa and War-N also chat about their new friends (and awesome band) Stephanie’s Id as well as other artists they’ve been listening to this week (Chuck Lichtenberger, Iron & Wine and The Birthday Massacre). War-N runs down some upcoming shows (including a local gig with The Birthday Massacre) and touts Christa’s new found mad keyboard skills.

Much thanx to fellow podcasters that have been playing Hungry Lucy, including Podcast for Peace, Reaching for Lucidity, and InDigital.

Tea with Hungry LucyEpisode 14 of Tea with Hungry Lucy finds Christa and War-N talking about their song My Beloved (from the album To Kill a King) which includes vocals from Alexx Reed (of Thoushaltnot) and Kristy Venrick (of The Azoic) among several family members. Christa explains the origin of St. Valentine’s Day .. beheading and all. War-N goes into Garfunkel madness and describes how an Art Garfunkel (formerly of Simon and Garfunkel) concert sent him back down memory lane. The pair also chat about music they’ve been enjoying recently (Entheos and Rasputina) as well as some upcoming shows (Chicks RockFest, gig with Entheos, and ElectroFest v2.0). Ending the podcast is a song from long-time friend and songwriter turned actor, Clete Francis.

Tea with Hungry Lucy podcast - Episode 13

Sunday, February 12th, 2006

Tea with Hungry LucyIn the 13th (rather opinionated) installment of Tea with Hungry Lucy, Christa and War-N discuss a new song they’ve been working on called Harvest as well as the story behind the song Open Window (from the album Glo). DJ Bob didn’t like that Theremin! :) The duo talk about participation from David Harrison (of the band Lube, Oil & Filter) and inspiration from Harald Lowry (Chandeen/Kalinkaland). War-N vents about what he sees as over-hyped software (Reason/Acid) and the search for a basic Electric Piano. Christa expresses her enjoyment of VNV Nation and the BBC America comedies (Little Britain, The Office and Creature Comforts) and War-N chimes in with music he heard from Natalie Walker (formerly of Daughter Darling), Nelly Furtado and Emiliana Torrini. We end with a rather disturbing verbal outburst from War-N and some music from the new song, Harvest.
