Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 21

Tea with Hungry LucyIn the (now of legal drinking age) 21st episode of Tea with Hungry Lucy, War-N and Christa discuss their performance and fabulous time at Chicks RockFest on April 7th and 8th. This week, the story behind the song focuses on the song “Stay” (from the album Glo). Christa steps on to her soapbox to shun the use of Autotune. In the OPM (other people music) segment Christa and War-N talk about some of the fabulous performers at Chicks RockFest. Among them were (but not limited to) Lindsay Caron, Rachel Sage, Leerone, Alison Tartalia, Pale Beneath the Blue, Jane Sachs Band, Diet Audio, Mr. Gnome, Stephanie’s Id, The Whitney Barricklow Band. Truly a great event. Thanx to Jenny (Jem) George-Schmidt, Jeff Conner and everyone else that pull off and amazing feat. We will share video of the festival in the coming weeks. The podcast ends with the Bloodwire remix of Stay (also on Glo).

Keep the feedback coming!

Ok, that damned muhnkee just about caused my head to explode! (Not a bad thing… I love my muhnkee too…)

I really wish that going to Chick’s Rock Fest had been an option for me, but I find myself thinking if it happens again next year I may take some time off from werk…On a somewhat related note, I am ‘cited to hear of an update to the Sonic Spotlight (those not listening are missing som’n fun!) Will you be interviewing Shawn and I-Li sometime?

I think using voice ‘correction’ software may have a place in background vocals. I am quite ignant on the program but imagine that it could be used to alter one’s voice to make it sound like you have more peep’s vocals than there are at your disposal.

After Cher’s plastic rebirth in the 90’s I noticed auto tune more often (ever seen The Simpson’s episode when Bart joins a boy band? yvan eht noiJ?) but now I tune it out…

I like to research music that is off of the pop charts, however, what happens is I start going nutso on the purchasing and then my dogs go hungry since I eat them’s food. (That is why I have yet to buy the ‘Primal River Valley’ compilation from you’s guys…)

Finally, a retro comment on episode 17…

I make up silly voices often, and my eyes also tear up on certain ones. My hypothesis is that the tears are caused by the unintentional constriction of the nasal passage (right around the where the cartilage meets the bone). So the next time you make a silly voice that requires a more whiney/nasally tone, check to see if the skin on your nose wrinkles even slightly.

Maybe we can fund a study to see if I am correct?

    Jings ! A burp-free episode ! That’ll reduce my sponsorship bill a little I hope ;-)

Glad to hear the first show in a while went well - pity you can’t come and play over here in Edinburgh so I can come along and see you live. The next ‘Three From Leith presents:’ gig could be a stormer with HL on board. Och well.

BTW - get your free BBC comedy podcast: they’re now podcasting the topical comedy “The Now Show”. Not as many silly voices as you’d like, but nonetheless…. And I urge you to use the ‘Listen Again’ to check out Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show; he’d be right up your street.

Bono estente et boutros boutros gali ! (name that show if you can!)
