Hungry Lucy

We are just three weeks away from the US release date for the Neil Gaiman CD, “Where’s Neil When You Need Him?” The US release is July 18th, and the European release
date has now been confirmed as August 18th. GET THE CD HERE.

There are now sound samples for each track posted by Amazon.com. They are low-fidelity and only 30 seconds in length, but they offer a nice sneak preview of the album: listen here. Episode 29 of Tea with Hungry Lucy is upon us. This week Christa & War-N talk about the large construction truck that made a grand entrance through their bedroom wall. Also the fun night that had at the goth prom (featuring Voltaire, Liquefaction and DJ Bob). The OPM (other people’s music) segment focuses on Danielle Dax and Liquefaction. War-N & Christa then talk about the trickiness of capturing great performances in the confines of the studio and War-N wonders if he “looks” English. The episode ends with what can only be described as demented children’s music.

We’ll focus on the EP in the coming weeks … we promise!

In episode 28 of Tea with Hungry Lucy, Christa Belle & War-N talk about continued work on the forthcoming EP “Before We Stand … We Crawl”. War-N tried to turn the podcast into a reality show by disagreeing with Christa as they discussed the Auralgasms show and chat from last week. This week’s story behind the song sheds a little light on the song “Could it Be?” (from the album Glo) as Christa reveals her creepy stalker side and War-N compares the song to the great band Collide.

In the OPM segment (other people’s music) Christa shares her love for singer-songwriter Nick Drake and particularly the album “Pink Moon” and War-N talks about the wonderful gothic, gypsy-folk (like that?) of Voltaire (performing locally on Sat. Jun 24th). Hungry Lucy are looking forward to performing with Voltaire later this year.

War-N launched into a call to action for everyone to stop the US Congress from cutting funding for NPR and PBS. This is important folks, so please do your part!

The podcast ends with a sneak peak of the new song “We Won’t Go” (from the forthcoming compilation CD, “Where’s Neil When You Need Him?“). Check out Christa’s notes on the song and watch the VIDEO HERE.

Hey, they’re BACK! In episode 27 of Tea with Hungry Lucy War-N and Christa catch up on the past month of activity including the recording and mixing of the new Hungry Lucy EP “Before we Stand … We Crawl”. The duo also talks about their recent shows in Madison, WI and the Cincinnati Dark Arts Fest. Also in the works is an August/September East coast tour! If you are a venue or promoter interested in booking Hungry Lucy, please get in touch. The story behind the song this week focuses on “Journey” (from the album Apparitions) … way back in 2000! In the OPM segment (other people’s music) Christa talks about Faithless, and specifically the song “Why Go?” sung by Boy George. War-N talks about his teenage idol, Howard Jones and his latest album “Revolution of the Heart” and 20th Anniversary concert DVD. War-N also touts the new Zero 7 CD ,”The Garden”. In the spirit of OPM, War-N and Christa will be hosting a 2 hour internet radio show on June 12th and 10pm EST called “Tea and Tunes with Hungry Lucy” over at Auralgasms Radio. Tune in for lots of War-N and Christa’s fave tunes, some banter and a live online chat. Ending the episode is a free-form bit of lovely vocal nonsense!
