Tea with Hungry Lucy podcast - Episode 35

Tea with Hungry LucyStarting off this week’s podcast is a chipper War-N and slightly moody, pukey Christa Belle. Topics discussed included the construction on the duo’s house, building the video sequences for the tour, set lists galore, getting ready for full rehearsals and announcing some of the confirmed tour spots. The pair chat about the lovely time they had at CB’s dear friend Kristi’s wedding over the weekend. Christa attempts to play the Penny Whistle and fails miserably, but War-N comes in and plays like a pro. OPM’s included the amazingly talented KT Tunstall and Keane. The story behind the song is for the rather cryptic, vague song “A Girl Alone” from the new EP “Before We Stand…We Crawl” which is available now for just 7 short dollars! The episode ends with a discussion about musicians differences of opinion on the process of writing verses the end result of the album.

  2. Christa Belle Says:

i remember hearing a bit of Travis a few years ago, along with Elbow actually, but haven’t really followed them. i liked what i heard though.

eehhhhmmm nothin else interestin to say :P :) yey!

  4. KinGizzard Says:

I like the trick where you bet someone that they can’t lick their elbows…

‘Course you know they can’t (Gene Simmons maybe) and they end up looking like a mentally challenged individual!

    ::sigh:: Ain’t middle school great?

  5. Skebz Says:

hehehehehe you see that joke happen even on cereal packs! it’ll have some “facts” and one of them will be the elbow one… then at the end it says “7/10 people will try to lick their elbow after reading this” LOL weird… I havent tried… O.O and im not very tempted to try lol

  6. Grant Says:

Christa - hope you’re feeling better by now ! I almost fell of the ladder I was up (painting the ceiling) listening to the penny whistle playing. If you like that type of sound, check out the recorder playing on ‘Galadriel’ by Barclay James Harvest. It’s also one hell of a great song. Or the incredible flute playing by Andy Latimer of Camel.

Right - better get back to my painting. Somehow I’ve also got to fit a podcast recording session into today too… busy busy busy !!!

    Your blue-splodged pal ;-)

  7. War-N Says:

Does it have to be your own elbows? ;P
    Hey this is kinda neat:

Barclay James Harvest ….. mmmm. Happy painting Grant :)

  8. PNC Says:

I can make it to about 3 inches (or for those in the UK ~7.5 cm) from my elbow … I’d either need very short arms or a loooooong tongue to bridge the gap for sure.
    TTFN P of PNC
PS nice HL mention on the sonic weekly article :-)
PPS I would not recommend attempts at elbow licking by the over sixties - it hurts

  9. Christa Belle Says:

that’s enough with the elbow licking! i tried years ago, so i don’t think age will make me more limber to be able to do so :)

Grant, hope you’re having fun painting! :) we’ve got some painting to do when we get back from our journey in a few weeks… our vaulted kitchen ceiling. fun, fun :|

well, our room painters are here now and construction is nearing completion! better go and have some breakfast and get rid of my blasted headache!

    take care all!!
