Tea with Hungry Lucy podcast - Episode 37
Hello children!! War-N starts out this week’s TWHL with a loud greeting from a bubble in his throat. Discussions are plenty on this chat as the duo take us on a weird ride through their week. All members of HL (including Chloe) were sick for a week, so productivity was a bit low. Christa mentions that the bedroom re-construciotn is now complete! They will no longer mention this annoying fact on future podcasts
Thanks to Roy, CB & War-N chat about the “good old days” of playing new tracks at club Vertigo (Cincinnati, OH… now defunct) when HL first formed. Remembering sights, smells and sounds of club goodness. Ahhh… so sweet! The story behind the song was “Fool” from the album “To Kill A King“. Christa deeply discusses the inspiration for the lyrics and part of the instrumentation and War-N thinks back to remember what inspired his choices for the music. OPM’s mentioned were Scenic Square, Nick Cave and Natalie Walker (formerly of Daughter Darling). Ending this week’s rambling cavern of thought was War-N removing his pants and trying to compete with Soccergirl! Other podcasts/radio mentioned were Dave’s Lounge, Three From Leith, and WXOU Radio.

Oh dear - the illnesses that spread via the medium of podcasting, eh ? Hope you’re both well on the mend by now (and that Chloe’s well and trult over her little vet visit) and really fighting fit for the tour. Huge thanks for the advance anniversary wishes; I was grinning like a chesire cat on the bus at that
Have you ever considered that Chloe has ‘The Glamour’ ? You’ll have to read the book by Christopher Priest and let me know what you think. Cats are very mysterious - October manages to slip onto my knee without me noticing for up to 20 minutes… it’s quite freaky.
The SBTS this week was very personal and emotional; I’m so glad that you came though the other side of that situation and had the strength to exorcise that particular ‘demon’ through song.
Good luck on the tour and I’m looking forward to hearing the on-the-road guerilla podcasts !

i know what “Glamouring” is in the witchcraft worls, but i have to read what you mean about Chloe having “The Glamour”. Chloe also has the ability to sneak on my lap without me noticing. i’ll look over at War-N and say “When the hell did she get on my lap??”
it’s always a welcome surprise too. Cats are amazing and so good for the soul… ours and theirs! Chloe is all better now too. back to yowling at everything and anything!
ok. better go. lots to do today!!
take care,

Glad to hear your baby is back to normal!
The bag (gas down) technique works very well for fractious cats, but were you there to actually see it done? (Anesthetic gasses are not to be ‘exposed’ to the public) But, as insensitive as it may seem, I think that there are some things an owner just doesn’t need to see. Some techniques used to restrain/anesthetize/treat still seem barbaric (seems like you’s guyz had to issues with it though…)
Anyways…
Believe me, I WANT to go to BOTH performances in IL, but the gas prices alone are enough to shoot down that plan, I am most likely gonna go-go to the Chicago one, that way my wifey (yes the WIFEY!!!) may actually come with, since she has to werk on Friday.
Do you guys want/need help setting stuff up? I be willing to show up early and knock over the laptop, kick the speakers, and poke holes in the drums, er, that is if you want me to! I am a good werk mule and can lift half my body weight on the moon! I can also bring written references (from my mom, and maybe a homeless guy) to vouch for my hard workmanship!
Will you be available to chat before/after the performance like you were at the bottom lounge last year? And who will be on first, you or the DJ’s? Will there be a ‘delayed start’ like last year too?
Just wondrin’
And lastley, I may have a small surprise for you when I see yous guyz…

Hey Angel!
hopefully, there will NOT be a delayed start. that was not due to us (wink wink) but it affected us, and all you lovely show-goers! sorry about that last time :/
thanks for your offer on helping. we’ll be fine though. we are what most folks call “light and fast” in the set-up department. we can, and have, done set up and sound check in 30 minutes! we don’t LIKE to do it that way, but we do whatever we can humanly do to get the job done
of course we will be available for chatting! we wouldn’t miss chatting with you! i don’t yet know when we’ll be most available (before or after we go on), but know that we will do everything we can to sit down and properly chat with ya
ok. it’s getting late and we’re still working on tour prep stuff. time to sit down and ret our weary bones :/
see ya soon!! ooh… a surprise. cool!!
take care,
cb
