Tea with Hungry Lucy Netcast - Episode 51

Tea with Hungry LucyHappy 1 year Anniversary to Tea with Hungry Lucy! Christa and War-N celebrate 1 year of netcasts with a VERY silly trip down memory lane, lovingly assembled by Christa. The Story Behind the song segment makes a triumphant return as the duo discuss the song Cover Me (from the album, Apparitions). Hard to believe that song was written and recorded 8 years ago! As War-N becomes progressively more drunk (from yummy Woodford Reserve), the conversation turns to OPM (Other People’s Music). This week War-N talks about the glitchy, sexy goodness of Samarah (from on of HL’s fave towns, Madison, WI). Christa talks about Johnny Lang and his bluesy, R&B goodness. Just before War-N actually tumbles from his chair, the episode finishes with a lovely message from Grant Mason of the delicious Three from Leith podcast.

Please, tell us what is on your mind in text or using your sweet sounding voice!. Why Netcast?

Grant’s accent makes me feel less scottish than him lol darn him! XD

I spammed your shoutout with the whole My Chingo thing, and I still cant get it to work. Everything loads, but theres a wee error sign at the bottom of the page i cant seem to get rid of, so sadly I cant post a voice message (which I reaaaalllyyy want to do), unless PNC can help? they seemed to get it to work… :( theres no help on the main webpages either…

loved the trip thru the podcasts(netcasts, whatevers), v v funneh. sorry i didnt reply to the last podcast :s been working more than im used to, and its getting me all bleh and stupid and meh!

I bought a postage box so I could send u gifts, but its far too big. doh! So I either put a lot of padding in it and send it as it is (and get charged for the size), or try find a smaller one…arg! lol its just stupid stuff anyways… :S

I’ll keep trying to make My Chingo work! x_X

Well, can’t really help on the HL voicemail thing Skeb, other than to say, as proud owners of a MacBook, it just worked right off the bat for us.

Your postage box comment had us both imagining a large red cylindrical object at the bottom of the street, with a mouth ready to swallow the odd letter or two :-)

But yes, the netcast was a triumphant work of art we thought. And we loved Grant’s words to HL. Do agree about Grant’s magnificent accent. Christa seems to be able to understand him more than we do and me with a Scottish grandmother from Peebles :-)

If you had an OAP’s OPM HL we would suggest Tony Bennett’s 80th b’day duets CD and DVD :-)

  3. Iain Telfer Says:

Thanks for thinking about my Honey Mustard Tofu question in the podcast…..It still sounds yummy.
    And Happy 1st Podbirthcastday!

  4. Grant Says:

What a brilliant show ! Happy Birthday, and a special pat on the back to Christa for her montage of silliness which had me giggling like a big girl this morning. I know how hard it is doing something like that, so I appreciate every moment she spent. War-N getting tiddly was hilarious too :-)

Thanks PNC and Skeb on the accent comments - is it really that thick ? I though I didn’t have one at all. You should try listening to the tartanpodcast or Well Made Music - those are much more impenetrable than mine !!

I’m now thinking I could make money by trading on my Scottish voice, kind of like Tom Baker’s BT text-to-speech service (which is back for another turn this Christmas - yippeee !! More chances to make Tom say silly things and this time part of the proceeds go to charity)

Anyway - I’m off to watch an episode of ‘Are You Being Served’ from the Series 5 DVD before bed, as I’m still in a silly, giggly mood !

    Cheerio !

    Grant

  5. Skeb Says:

Grant, I think your accent is almost amplified by the fact that cuz ur sort of broadcasting, you have that sort of … announcing voice? I don’t know if its deliberate, but its almost like how news readers talk :D You can hear my accent on the my chingo thing on the main HL page, I sould like a guy! xD

  6. Grant Says:

I have learned to talk slower, more clearly and to stop mumbling since I started podcasting.

I do talk a bit differently when I record, mainly because the largest number of my listeners aren’t from the UK so I try to be less impenetrable !!!
