Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 62

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Tea with Hungry LucyIn this episode, HL take us back to the time of “pre-Apparitions” and perform their third live podcast song “Watcher”. Re-vamped for your pleasure, and theirs, the duo perform the song totally live from their squeaky seats. An update on the “Make Your Own Damn T-shirt” contest, and a reminder to get your designs in for consideration…but not until you’re ready ;) OPM’s of the week are Iron Maiden for CB, specifically the album “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” and War-N’s pick was Future of Sound, a not-for-profit organization combining music, visual arts and science while finding different ways to create music. Future of Sound was started by Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure) and Martyn Ware (Human League, Heaven 17). All in all, a wonderful bit of musical med’cine! War-N also tells us how Hungry Lucy’s appearance on the Free Music Charts has helped boost CD sales of late and touches on the difference between free (as in beer) and free (as in freedom) (or Gratis vs. Libre).

A shoutout to fellow Podcaster, and friend, Grant Mason and his new venture “Three Men in a Pod“, which includes the members of Three From Leith (Grant), Well Made Music (Neil) and The Electrical Language Podcast (Gabor). Come one, come all and enjoy this lovely bit of collaboration! And why not subscribe, if you haven’t already, to all three delicious podcasts!

Hungry Lucy wants YOUR feedback (thanks Claire): What songs do YOU want to hear us perform on the podcast? What are your favorite/least favorite parts of the podcast? Any questions we can answer for you?
Please, tell us what is on your mind in text or using your sweet sounding voice!

Working in the backroom

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Just a quick update in case you’re not listening along on the podcast (why not?). We’re currently working on a remix for our European friends, The Dreamside. We’re also getting basic tracks together for a new Hungry Lucy song called Erase Her. This song will feature a guest vocalist so we’re getting all the bits together for her.

We currently have two lives shows coming in April (Chicks RockFest and Diet Audio’s CD Release). We plan to do both as our “CafĂ© Style” set. One keyboard, one microphone and some of our songs … simple. We will be performing one such song on the next podcast … so listen in.

Tea with Hungry LucyJumpin’ Grammy chasm’s! It’s another fun-filled episode of Tea with Hungry Lucy! This weeks brings chats about Grammy nominees, how iTunes currently puts unnecessary copy protection on downloaded music and snow falling on Ohio. Christa reads a more “Lovely” poem from her past writings titled “Bride & Groom”, appropriate for Valentine’s Day later this week. We find more twisted logic stories about how copy protection is the same as Sex Ed in school. What the??? But hey, it’s just another mass of non-information from HL HQ! Happy friggin’ Valentine’s Day.

Hungry Lucy want’s YOUR feedback: More live performances on the podcast? What songs would you like to hear? Which songs means something to you, and why?
Please, tell us what is on your mind in text or using your sweet sounding voice!

Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 60

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Tea with Hungry LucyIn a particularly LOOPY episode of TWHL War-N get’s the date wrong and proclaims Christa “The Queen of the Honey Bunch”. Christa delves deep in to her poetic archive for a particularly disturbing, but humorous, poem. She also shares a “lost verse” from “Bed of Flames” (from the Apparitions album). Then the pair delve into other people’s music and talk about Mandalay (and they’re album “Solace“). Christa talks about yet another project from Ryan & Rebecca Coseboom (of Halou) called “Invisible Ballet“. Their album “Escaping Light” is available on Nilaihah Records.
