Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 62
In this episode, HL take us back to the time of “pre-Apparitions” and perform their third live podcast song “Watcher”. Re-vamped for your pleasure, and theirs, the duo perform the song totally live from their squeaky seats. An update on the “Make Your Own Damn T-shirt” contest, and a reminder to get your designs in for consideration…but not until you’re ready
OPM’s of the week are Iron Maiden for CB, specifically the album “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” and War-N’s pick was Future of Sound, a not-for-profit organization combining music, visual arts and science while finding different ways to create music. Future of Sound was started by Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure) and Martyn Ware (Human League, Heaven 17). All in all, a wonderful bit of musical med’cine! War-N also tells us how Hungry Lucy’s appearance on the Free Music Charts has helped boost CD sales of late and touches on the difference between free (as in beer) and free (as in freedom) (or Gratis vs. Libre).
A shoutout to fellow Podcaster, and friend, Grant Mason and his new venture “Three Men in a Pod“, which includes the members of Three From Leith (Grant), Well Made Music (Neil) and The Electrical Language Podcast (Gabor). Come one, come all and enjoy this lovely bit of collaboration! And why not subscribe, if you haven’t already, to all three delicious podcasts!
Hungry Lucy wants YOUR feedback (thanks Claire): What songs do YOU want to hear us perform on the podcast? What are your favorite/least favorite parts of the podcast? Any questions we can answer for you?
Please, tell us what is on your mind in text or using your sweet sounding voice!

Damn my english sucks. Tell me - our offer that we has used the “Before we stand…” EP in terms of the Creative Commons and offer this download helped you to sell more CDs? Is this right?
February 19th, 2007 at 1:21 pm
Yes, this is correct! Proof-positive that making music available for free can HELP! Thank you for including Hungry Lucy in your offerings.

War-N also tells us how Hungry Lucy’s appearance on the Free Music Charts has helped boost CD sales of late and touches on the difference between free (as in beer) and free (as in freedom) (or Gratis vs. Libre). I would like to hear “A Girl Alone” and “Storm”
February 20th, 2007 at 4:46 pm
What a lovely new version! Any chance of having it as a bonus track on the new album? Though I don’t like the immediate “that wasn’t so bad” or “not too shabby” comments as soon as you’ve finished the performance, it jars me out of the little trance the song’s put me into. I don’t think either of you know just how good you are!
As for future live performances, my suggestions are: Could It Be?, We Won’t Go, Shine, You Are and Into Pieces. Or perhaps a cover song?
The Creative Commons License dealy made me jump to buy the EP, and raised my respect for HL even more. Trust in the fans does work!
(Pssst… “Hungry Lucy want’s YOUR feedback” -> should be “wants”, no apostrophe needed. It’s been bugging me for a few weeks now.

Thanks Claire. I’m usually the one to point out errors, and I missed that one! You’re my kinda gal
Thanks so much guys for all the live requests. Now we have a long list to go through starting with what YOU want to hear. It takes the pressure off of us to come up with the next one
Claire, I also understand your comment on being “jolted” out of the musical trance. We will try not to do that in the future. Chances are if it bugs you, it’s probably bugging others as well. Would you rather the performance be at the end as not to be followed by other banter? Just a thought. Also, I LOVE your name! It’s my niece’s middle name, but I love it as a first name more. Oh, one more point of yours to address, we may add the new version of Watcher somewhere, be it a download, bonus track or special of some sort. We both really liked having it ready to perform and feel it will do well as an actual “track” somewhere. Glad to know you liked it so much. THANKS!!
ok. I’ve rambled quite enough. Talk to you guys on Sunday!
Take care,
Christa Belle

Hey there, just like to say that for the last couple of weeks I’ve started my week with TWHL in my car on my way to work (whilst driving round the dreaded M25!). It just eases me into the working week so nicely as I listen to you two talk twaddle, text, tunes, trivia and Tea….
I even started this week with a day off like you guys, although it wasn’t presidents day for me but Gas man day….
As ever you fill a nice hole I didn’t know existed until you filled it!
Iain
PS I’m still waiting for the honey tofu thingy

AH YES! The Tofu thing. I will give the recipe on the next TWHL. Sorry. It slipped me mind!
Thanks for the gentle reminder
Take care,
