Tea with Hungry Lucy – Episode 74 (Salad Shooters)
After a one-week hiatus, Christa and War-N are back to delight you with tales of musical excursions, violently smashing rehearsals, War-N’s Facebook fun and Bjork spoofs. War-N speaks about some other people’s music in the form of the delicious Tania Moran (who reminds War-N of Olivia Newton-John) and the fascinating new project from Collide and Daren Garcia (of Curve) called The Secret Meeting. Christa tells us of her plans for a new video series and promises to deliver the first one next week … personally, I’m moist with anticipation! War-N also alludes to some life-changes in the not too distant future, but we’re unsure of what’s the hell he’s talking about … what’s new? ;P

Salad shooters…. hee hee ! The video idea for it fills me with great anticipation of the hilarity to come. I nearly did myself an injury suppressing the laughter as War-N giggled more and more when you mentioned the box of tissues; the person on the other side of the bus was glaring at me at the time and I didn’t want a smack on the chops for smirking at them unintentionally !
Talking of videos – I was laughing at the Proclaimers’ 1988 “Sunshine On Leith” video. I was shocked at the fashion – I moved to Leith 2 years after that so I started to feel very old wqhen I saw what people were wearing around that time. I remember the (then closed down) cafe just inside the dock gates where they shot it – and then realised it was pulled down very soon after I moved here. How times have changed !

Now all I hear is “we are the salad shooters” when I listen to Volta and it makes me laugh, can’t wait to see the video!
