Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 76 (Grandma’s Fireworks)
This week brings a tired Christa Belle & War-N to your ears post-rehearsal and post-dinner. The sleepy, full-bellied kids ramble on for a few minutes about this and that. Some of which including the new iTunes cd sales without copy protection and the surprising number of sales this brought. Good for them! OPM’s included Echostream from CB’s music rack and Siobhan Donaghy from War-N’s list. CB vows to shut the hell up about explaining every little gardening thing she does to those around her, for fear of losing all ties to family and friends!! Funny how things we love, others don’t so much (for those that do, lots here). War-N talks more about “Surface vs. Substance” and wants to dig deeper into where HL’s surface went. War-N recalls watching CB and her Daddy take a drive in a rockin’ truck. A kick-ass 87 Chevy truck that Christa’s Dad rebuilt from the body up. Yeeeeeee haw!!! Ahhh…nothing like Fireworks that Grandma used to make. Reminds me of home.
What are your thoughts on surface vs. substance? here.

Hey guys! Enjoyed the new episode. So glad you are putting the videos on iTunes. I think video podcasts have really exploded the past few months and it should do well for you there.
Christa, I loved hearing about the garden, so there! Maybe you should do a gardening/cooking show? In your free time, of course… Finally, Neil and I are big fans of the jingles. Keep them up; the more the merrier!
See you on fountain square!

Mornin’ y’all!
I wondrin’ if you could discuss som’n in the next podcast…
I have been curious as to (approximatly) how many of your CDs you’ve actually moved (both selling and promotional) in the years you been doing HL?
I know you’ve often said the 1st CD is the best seller, and I thought I’d be nosey in asking those figures, but after hearing that Amazon.com wanted more of them I just couldn’t resist asking!

Why don’t you just buy new jewel cases for the amazon returned discs?
I could even send you some, or your good friends at cd babay must have loads as they remove them when shipping overseas…

One reason only Iain … shrink wrap. We don’t have a handy-dandy shrink wrap machine. Also, I kinda like the idea of putting these discs out there via LaLa.com
Thanks for watching out for us though.

Cling film and a hairdryer….that’s all I’ll say

Back in the 80s I sold some of my CDs, I now regret doing that and have since re-purchased some of them. I have an extensive collection and although I don’t listen to some of the CDs that often, it’s a nice surprise when something I haven’t listened to forever pops up during shuffle on my iPod. Are you only putting Hungry Lucy CDs on LaLa? I guess what I’m saying is you might be like me and regret getting rid of a CD.

Bilbo: We’re putting lots of our collection on Lala … not just HL CDs. Most of it is industrial stuff that neither of us listen to any longer. I’m actually using Lala to get back many of the CDs of the past that I’d sold off years ago.
Iain: nice idea on the cling film, but I don’t think it’d pass Amazon’s incoming CD patrol
