Fountain Square show

We played our 40 minute set on Fountain Square yesterday evening. We were pleased to see so many folks come out in support. It was also great to reach a few new fans.

Thanks to Laura Smith for the photo!

I must admit, it felt very strange to be playing in a sea of concrete in the broad daylight. It actually made it difficult to get lost in the performance, especially with the passing fire truck sirens. The set went well, despite a few hiccups. The last 3 songs is where the set really kicked in. That is mostly due to the “emptiness” of our current live setup. I think we’re both ready to bring back the video and laptop … it just feels richer that way.

Nevertheless, we had a good time and want to thank everyone that came out as well as Puck (for booking us) and Bill Donabedian and the 3CDC for bringing the event together.

It must have been pretty hard to concentrate there, in the middle of all that traffic.
It reminds me of one of my piano exams. I was playing a Bach piece, when suddenly all firetrucks took of… (the fire department was located just next to the music academy). I managed to play on, but some notes must have been lost in all that noise. I passed the exam… but it was a scary moment.

i do recall an ambulance passing by during a song, but the stage monitors were so loud i barely noticed! it was certainly more difficult to concentrate. i think i need the darkness of a club environment for my best performance. :)

    take care,

Hi. I’m trying to find out the song that was playing when I came out of the Fifth Third building on Fountain Square a couple minutes before 5 p.m. I had to catch a bus or I would have stayed. From what I’ve been able to scope out on the internet, I’m thinking it was this group, Hungry Lucy. I’ve sampled your music on Amazon.com, but haven’t come up with the song. I really don’t have much to go on, just that I thought it was a really neat melody on a synthsisizer (sp). I’m thinking you were practicing before your 5:30 show. Any idea what song you might have been playing around 5 p.m.? I would greatly appreciate it!
