Tea with Hungry Lucy - Episode 77 (Actually, actually)
In episode 77 of Tea with Hungry Lucy, both War-N and Christa fixate on the word actually (actually) as they review their performance in the town square of Cincinnati. Neither really liked the broad daylight and lack of HL “fullness”. That means the video is coming back folks! War-N spoke of Prince and his method to release his new album. Retailers are angry but War-N and Christa think Prince should be able to do whatever the hell he pleases with his own music! Christa shares the recipe for tonight’s dinner (a veggie ragu) as War-n salivates in the background.
OPM’s for this week include Miriam and Areonaut (specifically, the instrumental Relics collection). Christa also gives a nice plug to Contagious Graphics as the HL merch supplier of choice. oh yes … SHOUTOUT is back!
The podcast ends with a live performance of Blue Dress … the song that started it all.
You want stickers? What kind? Tell us here.

We really loved the podcast …. actually …. such warmth and fun banter. Loved the recipe and learnt some things … actually. And then there was “Blue Dress”. We enjoyed it at the Fount’n Square show, but could hear the music better on the podcast. WE LOVE IT ….and we love you singing it lower like that Christa …. it brings out a richness in your voice that works especially well with that song we thought … gave us goosebumps …. actually.

Speaking of stickers and such, have you guys ever seen or considered this website: http://www.cafepress.com/ I’ve seen a few other sites use it, for example a screenwriting website I like: http://www.cafepress.com/wordplay/ Good luck with everything.

Actually… your podcast this week was great. It was a lot of fun to see you guys at Fountain Square. Mari had a great time. Being only nine, she doesn’t get to see too many concerts.
T-shirts AND stickers? Yes! But Laura’s my business manager, so if you want to license my package, you’ll have to talk to her.

Glad to hear that the performance went well. You could save the ’stripped down’ setup for special performances in small venues, maybe.
It’s actually kinda weird seeing the picture of you guys looking so casual! So used to Warren wearing the monk(ey?) suits and Christa in her home-made Living Dead Doll attire!
In all actuality, (like that change up there?), I think I’d prefer to have the new design on a sticker.
I have wanted to replace my white logo sticker- I love it! The rear windshield wiper is starting to destroy it, but people still ask me about it. I actually meant to email you recently about if the white sticker was still available. I love the ‘old logo’ sticker and never was able to display it…
Now my comment on the whole Prince thing is why should the label care if he gives away the new album? I mean, do THAT many people actually even listen to Prince anymore?
I got his last album, for free, when I went to his concert, for free (Christy’s work had two complimentary tickets). And it still was sold at stores. Are the CDs going to be a mail-in thing, or included physically in a news paper?
I like it when you are setting up for a live singing on the podcast, War-n’s ‘I gotta unplug something,’ and Christa’s ‘Uh-huh…’ to funny!!!
I enjoyed the new version of ‘Blue Dress’ makes me wanna dance, y’all!!!! And the way you were actually able to work in the old version’s melody- that was delicious!
Thanks for all you do, guys!

I don’t really put stickers on my vehicle, just an Apple logo but I’d actually prefer a white HL logo to put on my back window (and no I don’t want one with Calvin pissing on some pop idol!). I have gotten many stickers from various bands with mail orders from them and I’ve actually never put any on anything except back when I carried a case of CDs to work (pre iPod days).
Thanks for the cooking segment, I’d love to see a Cooking with Hungry Lucy cookbook! I’d actually buy it!

I agree, Angel. I think I tried so hard to fight my stage wear and all that jazz because THAT was becoming the HL norm. I do tend to fight the normal factor a lot. I feel a switch back to my old ways coming, as far as appearances for live shows. No one wants to pay to see someone in street clothes now, do they? Clearly, I need to get all “dolled up” again. I actually (hee he) miss it now!! Yeah, yeah. More fun costumes and crazy make up!!! What was wrong with me??
Thanks for the reality check. I needed that!
take care,
