Tea with Hungry Lucy #84 (And Nonsense It All Is)

Tea with Hungry LucyThis week’s journey into nonsense finds Christa and War-N amidst rehearsals for upcoming shows now that the video prep and techie details are out of the way. War-N completely forgot how to play some of the older songs. There are so many non sequiturs and asides this week that your humble show note scribe is not sure where to begin. However, some of the external subjects discussed this week were:

The Mythbusters Sneeze
David Lynch and a cow
Die Warzau - Big Electric Metal Bass Face
Coil - The Angelic Conversation

Want a new theme tune, or the old one back? Tell us.

It was great listening to you guys babber this week. All though it was my first time actually listening. I’m going to listen more often, great quotes have come from it. “Bottle of beans!” I actually like the new theme tune.

oooooh ……. custard …………………… on recycled frozen cake ….. a gastronomic delight :-)

  3. PNC Says:

We loved the original jaunty intro …. absolutely loved it !

  4. tyim Says:

cheese is made FROM milk… get it

i drank your asp.book and read your guiness.

  5. aegis Says:

I still, to this day, find myself humming the Chloe theme. It’s brilliant and, I think, a fitting memorial.

  6. Bibo Says:

Yes you are correct, I am of the male persuasion. If you’re wondering what Bibo is you can read about him at my very outdated website http://home.comcast.net/~evilbibo/bibo.html

The vegetarian Parmesan is actually from Wisconsin, I sent them an e-mail and they said it should be in many grocery stores and if I can’t find it to go to http://www.ArtisanPantry.com and that they are offering new Artisan Pantry customers, referred by BelGioioso, a free wedge of BelGioioso cheese with any cheese order over $25.00 (Enter offer code BEL507 in the promo code section).

I got a chance to watch Inland Empire, um, well, it’s over 3 hours long and you may just want to rent it. I’m not even going to pretend I understood it. It seems people that like Eraser Head like this movie, Eraser Head is my least favorite Lynch Film, well maybe not now. I still have to watch the additional hour or so of deleted footage. I should have saved the money for the Twin Peaks box set coming out soon to replace my LaserDiscs.

  7. Bibo Says:

Oh I forgot, I do miss the old theme, it really lets people know they are in for some silliness and a great way to start their week. And am I just hearing things or does the closing theme keep looping “War-N”?

  8. KinGizzard Says:

    I loved this episode.

The old theme was a bucha fun, I sang along, full blast!

If you have an issue with the Chloe line, maybe re-record it with

“We got OPM’s and storis galore,
And the cats are PAWING at the studio door…”

    Just an idea…

I also caught the sneeze on Mythbusters, lol! Christy and I enjoyed the laughter caused by that episode because we were so tired from cleaning up flood water in our basement all weekend!

    And…

Didja ever get that OPie Muhnkee rap I wrote?

  9. Christa Belle Says:

Angel, I did get the rap, but I currently don’t know where it is…my email or HL email. Feel free to post it here if ya like! Glad you and Christy enjoyed the Mythbusters sneeze. I found it very funny indeed!

Thanks, as always, for all the wonderful comments. Keep ‘em comin’!!

    Take care all,

    cb

  10. KinGizzard Says:

    Ahem…

Yo, my name is OPie, Listen to me, I am the Hungry Lucy crazy Muhnkee!

The podcast section, that be up next, is the one that I like the best!

I sit all day, inside my crate, listening to voices make teeth grate.

But when that jingle starts to ringle it makes my body really tingle.

The drums, the beats, the hip hop treats make me dance yeah, move my feets.

So when you hear them say ‘OPM,’

Throw your hands up and yell

    YEAH I LIKE THEM!!!!

    3/4/2007

    Angel P.

  11. Christa Belle Says:

Thanks! Perhaps part of that will go into the next OPM jingle ;) We do likes to keep them on the short side.

    Peace out, yo!

This is my second attempt to comment, so let’s hope I hit the right buttons this time. Neil and I vote for the return of the old theme song as a wonderful tribute to Miss Chloe… and because we love and miss it. But we’d also love to hear new silliness, so maybe you could do a new outro… just a thought…

Oh, and a food/cooking request for Christa. You mentioned making French bread. I have lots of trouble with that and wonder if you’d share tips - on the show or on your blog. Since we share the same climate I’m hoping your technique will give me some insight into my failure. My dough is always too soft and collapses on itself. Woe is me…
