Tea With Hungry Lucy #88 (Blood, Fire and Flying Bologna)

September 23rd, 2007 Leave a comment Go to comments

Tea with Hungry LucyFor this week’s Tea with Hungry Lucy, Christa and War-N chat about the fun they had performing and attending the Fetish Fantasy Island – Pirate Invasion event in Pittsburgh. There was lots of spanking and exposed parts, fire, flying luncheon meats and even a little (unintentional) blood …. eek! Both War-N and Christa were impressed with the venue and hospitality of everyone involved. Although still having voice problems, Christa pulled off a great performance and War-N said it was the most fun he’s had on stage in a while. Christa expresses concern that HL is still not quite “there” yet, when it comes to live performance. No worries, the next few months are about finishing the next CD anyway!

Your questions and comments will be addressed next week … so tell us what they are.

in my ever-so-humble opinion, the most “on” hungry lucy has ever been for a performance i’ve had the privilege of attending … was when i saw you two down in knoxville … i believe the event is known as “sanctus” …

i think it had a lot to do with it being one of the crowds most receptive and appreciative of you. at least, regarding shows that i’ve seen. but really, i have a hard time remembering what the crowd was like at early shows … such a when you played with the azoic in cinci … and i wasn’t as familiar with you back then, so maybe i was missing out on some of the electricity that i felt in knoxville.

but in all honesty, there has never been one performance of yours i’ve been at that i did not find some aspect of absolutely scintillating. from hearing songs like harvest and we won’t go for the first time, to hearing older songs as if for the first time after gaining a different perspective on them because of happenings in my personal life or even just because i can see how much they mean to you in a way i’d never been able to before … you two put everything into each song, no matter how much or how little respect you’re getting from the crowd … sometimes it’s nearly overwhelming to watch you draw upon emotions running so deep … emotionally draining, but a catharsis.
