Oh, yeah, Little Jimmy Scott is awesome. There's a <a href="http://www.alpha-net.ne.jp/users2/msuisei/english/efilm/why.htm" rel="nofollow">documentary</a> about his rise, fall and resurgence late in life.

There's also a <a href="http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0293294/" rel="nofollow">newer one</a> which I haven't yet viewed.

Congratulations on the mainstream plays. You deserve it.

Children of Men. Saw it the day it came out and it was no disappointment. Brilliant. Classic.

And contrats also, on the new addition- Pullo was also one of my favorite characters from Rome.

What is it with listener figures ? Mine seem to dive for a few months, then soar again, then dive... it can get quite depressing as you begin to wonder if you're giving up so much of your time just to talk to yourself... ;-) But then I get a lovely email or comment, like you do, and it makes every second worthwhile.

(Have a listen to show 108 of TFL to find out how I plugged HL at work recently, and some of the feedback I got !)

The two of you give me such a lift on a Monday; the podcast is a 'happiness in an mp3' for me. You have the same demented sense of humour and comedy taste that I have - and it's great to virtually share the fun now that all of my 'live' friends have moved away. Plus I get to hear the fabulous HL music as well. It's truly an entertainment-a-thon and a bargain to boot, and you never ask if we're local ;-) "Alles klar ? Do you want to see my pink pomphlet?"

Grant, we have seen "League". It was one hell of a demented comedy. "May I help you at all?". Reminded me of Kids in the Hall mixed with Vicar of Dibley! Two of my fun time pals :)

Glad everyone enjoyed the 'cast this week. Getting comments reassures us we are doing the right thing. Sometimes I feel like "What's the point?" with the podcast, with our lowering listener rates...but it's fun and we enjoy it, so that makes it worth it, too! We like to keep our fans, and ourselves, happy. So, we'll be doing the podcast for many a moon :) THANKS GUYS!!

Take care,

Wow!

So excited that you got some 'mainstream' attention!

Kinda funny that discovery health used you though, you'd think they'd be super cautious and want you to sign like 5 pages worth of stuff!

Kinda sux that they don't say what region or radio station played you!

Oh, thanks for letting Opie out a few times!!!

Peep Show is brilliant; I love that 'cringe-comedy' - it makes me wince with embarrassment just like Fawlty Towers and The Office do. Have you seen "The IT Crowd" yet ? Series 2 has just finished - it's brilliant. Right now I've just started watching "Catterick", which I missed when it was on TV. I think you'd enjoy that - Vic, Bob, Matt Lucas, Reece Shearsmith, Charlie Higson et al.

And one you've never mentioned, which is an all-time favourite of mine "The League Of Gentlemen" - utter genious and dark, twisted comedy par excellence.

Anyway - thanks for making me giggle again today, and I'm glad I gave you the horn ;-) If you thought it was loud when it was recorded, you should hear it live ! Motorists start looking round in a panic thinking there's an 18-wheel artic about to flatten them...

I first heard about Children Of Men because of the inclusion of King Crimson's The Court Of The Crimson King. Now I see that also Life In A Glass House from Radiohead is used in that movie (which I still have to watch though). Speaking of Radiohead, what are your thoughts on their plan to release their new album as a download for free and as a luxurious boxset for a lot of money (40 pound sterling)? Would such an approach work for Hungry Lucy?
