Hungry Lucy on Coverville
Hungry Lucy was recently featured on the excellent “Coverville” podcast that focused on the New Order/Joy Division cover story (#407). Our 2001 cover of New Order’s “Love Vigilantes” was included. We originally produced this track for a New Order tribute CD called “True Faith: A Tribute to New Order”. The compilation was released by Synthphony Records in 2001 (Amazon/iTunes).
I always liked our cover of this song. We took it to the total opposite end of the mood spectrum (on purpose). Christa’s lush harmonies on this track are absolutely delicious and I’m convinced she was channeling Enya during the last half of the recording. Christa has always wanted to perform this track live, but for some reason we haven’t. Perhaps we’ll slip it into some live sets this year.
You can also hear our version of “Love Vigilantes” via The Covers Project.
In case you’re not familiar with the original track:
Many thanks to Brian Ibbott for including us on his excellent podcast!

Re: albums - definitely prefer albums (ie. physical discs with artwork) - I don’t like downloads and don’t think I’d ever bother buying individual tracks - if there’s only a couple of good tracks on an album I’d probably give the whole thing a miss….
