Tea with Hungry Lucy #123 (Finger on the Pulse)
They’re back! After nearly a year and a half, Hungry Lucy return to the podcasting world with great news! Finally, Warren and Christa Belle announce the title of their new album, “Pulse of the Earth”, and discuss the writing/recording process. No previews yet, but it’s definitely worth one more week of waiting.
Amongst the writing and recording of the album, Christa Belle shares some fantastic news. CB has written her first novel, “Days with Indigo”, which will be released shortly behind the new HL album. Brilliant! Can you sense a combo-pack in the making?
It would seem that Warren and Christa Belle are no doubt back in business after a much needed quiet spell of creating and exploring the musical world. The new album is indeed a tribute to quietude, solace and what happens when you allow the music to speak to you, not the other way around. As the duo discovered, you can’t force a good song. You must be patient. Patience pays off…BIG TIME!
Until next week, prepare your ears and eyes for a fabulous treat! Can you feel the pulse?

Too bad there isn’t any preview from your new album… Can’t wait until next week !
On the “physical CD or not” topic : Since I only listen to music on my computer or mp3 player, CDs are useless for me.
Can’t wait to hear some of the new stuff next week. Are you doing any tour dates this year as well? I haven’t seen you guys play in about 3 years. way too long.
.
If I have to tell you what I think about pressing a physical CD or not then you don’t know me very well. I’ll shell out $20 for an aluminum CD if I have to.
Also sorry to be so picky but are you using a limiter while recording your podcast now? The last TWHL had stereo separation between you guys & I didn’t hear a stutter in between silent bits as on this one.
Noise gated podcast… I’ll let the background noise come through next time
Glad to hear you back. I was wondering where you had gone!
I’m a collector, so I gravitate to physical CDs for audio quality and the collectable nature of physical releases. However, as I’m in Australia, shipping costs a lot. If you do go digital, you must provide a lossless version with very high quality art (high-resolution, 1000 x 1000 pixels or above, low-compression). Hope that helps.
Yay! I’m so happy you guys are resuming the podcast. I’ve missed your voices in my ears. And I’m excited about the new album!
Re: physical CD… I may be old-fashioned, but I still love having album art and digipacks and such. I’d happily pay $12 for a physical disc.
Great to hear both of you again and with such good news about the latest album. I look forward to hearing more about it. Regarding the question of physical CDs vs. digital, I thought long about it, and decided to put in a vote for digital. I do feel a little bad about abandoning the physical, so if you ever offer a collectors version or something, I’d be first in line to pick it up. But in terms of every day listening, high quality digital is fine with me. Thanks for reading my comment. In terms of other questions for the podcast, I’d be interested in the lyric writing process, what inspired Christa, how you fit together the words and melodies. But I imagine that will come out on a song-by-song basis.
