HL on DVD

Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

We are very pleased to announce that the unreleased music video for Hungry Lucy’s “Softly” will finally see the light of day (or rather, dark of night). The video will be part of Asleep By Dawn Magazine’sSleepwatching” DVD to be released Sept. 20th. The “Softly” video was shot, edited and produced by Christa Belle & War-N and features CB floating in water and War-N completely submerged in water. If nothing else, we at least suffer for our art!

The end result is a very soothing accompaniment to the somber track. Also featured on “Sleepwatching” are Loreena McKennitt, Collide, Peter Murphy, Skinny Puppy, Blue Man Group, Lacuna Coil, Lunascape, The Cruxshadows and many more.

HL REMIXED

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

Hungry Lucy’s song “Can You Hear Me?” has been remixed by Russian based producer, musician and remixer DJ RAM and is included on his latest, “Synthphony REMIXed! Vol. 6“. For this disc, Synthphony suggested that a variety of established and newcomers be approached for the DJ RAM treatment. As usual, DJ RAM had no problems securing a host of familiar (Psyche, Freezepop, !distain, Blue October, Neuropa etc.) names and several rising stars (Bobby, The Promise, P24 and Hungry Lucy) smattered with a healthy dose of side projects and edgier acts.

2005 Spring Tour is history

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

The 2005 Spring tour is now history. What a whirlwind it’s been…. 13,000+ miles, 6 weeks, 20 shows, and countless varieties of pizza & motel rooms! Amazing shows that are the reason we do this and dismal shows that cause to wonder why we bother… but all-in-all and amazing experience we will never forget!

We have so many people to thank for helping us out on this tour. To name a few… Shawn & I-Li (bloodWIRE) for sharing the experience with us and being a friggin’ great band, all of the promoters and venue staff for setting up the shows and welcoming us so warmly… and most importantly… everyone that came out to the shows and greeted us with such enthusiasm. It’s always a pleasure to meet everyone face to face!

Thanx to all the bands we played with on this tour as well… Assemblage 23, BATTL, QstandsforQ, Leiahdorus & The Machine in the Garden. It was a pleasure to share the stage and hang out with you all.

Now… a brief rest and onward. What’s next for Hungry Lucy… stay tuned! ;)

Many-a-Photo!

Sunday, April 10th, 2005

Well hello again!

It’s not been too terribly long since the last news item. Just wanted to let you know we’ve uploaded some fresh pics ripe for the pickin’! You will find them under the Visuals section and the new catagories are Casual and Miscellaneous. I do hope this satisfies the craving that some of you have had for a while. We will be adding more during the tour as we have them, so that should prove to be fun!

That’s about it for now. Only 10 days left until our first official tour date!! Time is drawing near, and still much to do!! See you on the road :)

Take care,

Christa Belle, War-N, Chloé & Trevor (who will be coming along for the ride)

Touring, Etc..

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005

Greetings All!

I see from the Shoutout section that we have a few concerns about our tour route. I just wanted to take this time to tell you all that we have done, and are doing, absolutely everything in our power to book wherever folks would have us. We are having the most trouble in Atlanta. NO ONE had gotten back to us about playing in Atlanta. We started attempting Atlanta early in the booking stages. Unfortunately, we just didn’t get any bites (sorry Skorcher and AllNeonLike…our deepest sympathy to you!). As for Canada, we did look into it, but it’s just a big, horrid mess to even cross the border to play a show. I won’t get into it, it’s just crazy! We are still trying to book, so who knows what may materialize in these short weeks. So, I hope you understand our difficulties and are able to find a show near you at some point on our tour. We’d love to meet all of you that we talk to on the Shoutout board. You are what make us do what we do and we appreciate you so much! Thanks for all the support.

We are also aware of our lack of recent photos (Roy). To remedy this, we’ve been busy clicking away! These recent pics will be up on the site soon.

On a more personal note, I wanted to thank War-N for all of his hard work. He always works hard, but he’s really been giving 200 percent of himself lately. I admire him so much and thank him tremendously for what he does every day. MUAH :)

So, that about covers it for now. I am so friggin’ excited about this tour. I am ready to go work and play hard!! I hope you can join us and make this a tour to remember!! Until next time, only you can decide what’s best for you. Trust your own heart in each decision you make!

Take care,

CB, War-N, Chloé and Trevor
