Enjoyed both the podcasts this week!

Sorry you had such a bad week Christa.
I get very anxious myself but have not had a panic attack. I have Tourette's (sorry no vocal tics) and get very anxious & self conscious when I'm out in crowds or at a movie. I feel everyone is watching me and that just makes it worse. Most of the time when I go out I'm already thinking about how long it will be until I'm back home and I can be myself and stop trying to suppress my tics. So I kinda understand where you're coming from. I've been calm for awhile, but every now and then it just gets so bad I just want to stay home. Now that I think about it I have cut my caffeine intake down quite a bit in the past year. I used to have 6-7 Penguin Caffeinated mints during my work day in addition to 2 cups of coffee in the morning & a diet Coke with dinner. I ran out of mints early last summer & never ordered anymore. That could very well be part of it! Not ready to give up real coffee yet!

I think that "Bumble" is still my favorite song on the album. The imagery and story really tie it together and push it out front of the other songs, though it's still a "photo finish"...They are all excellent!

Nice "Imperial March" riff. As big a fan and as familiar as I am with the "Star Wars" soundtrack, I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't detect that immediately.

There certainly is a lot of vocal power in this track. Gives one a chill! I see (or rather hear!) what Christa Belle means by doing something different on this album. As a result, it's taken the band up a few notches--still Hungry Lucy, but more powerful and sophisticated.

I'm looking forward to getting my CD. I hope they're selling well for you. After all the work you've put into this, anyone sourcing a free copy should be ashamed of themselves.

Very enjoyable podcast. Thanks for the story behind the song. I really liked hearing you read the "Bumble" short story. That's great you found a style that fits and works for you, merging all those components; visual, atmosphere, character, etc. At first I thought the pet coming back was ominous, like Stephen King's "Pet Cemetery" but from the last line you discussed maybe not so much. Certainly this great album's themes of mystery and otherworldly not questioning is something I could probably use more of in my life. (Another 'rabbit' connection ... they live in a warren ;)

The album actually reminds me how stunning CBs vocals are, very nice

Nice album upon first listening.....Gypo-hop? I don't think that term would be very PC in the UK at them moment though :-)

A long contented AAhhhh.

After hearing Pulse of the Earth, I wonder why more artists don't take the time and care necessary to create such a beautiful album, as this one. I think I just answered my own question, I did say ARTISTS, didn't I.

I remember hearing or reading on Twitter that Warren was surprised with the new places CB's vocals have gone. I am too, and very pleasantly at that too!

The mark of good musicianship for me has always been the ability to see growth and development with each new album release, a mark which many artists and bands fail to reach. The Growth in the sound and texture presented here on Pulse of the Earth should become the Textbook for all other musicians to study and learn from.

A special comment on Sunday Smiled, a beautiful duet, that has touched a place in me, recalling a personal event in my relationship with my then Girlfriend, now wife. I know that CB and Warren know nothing about the event, yet they have told the story beautifully. We wed shortly after that.

The wait and time since Hungry Lucy's last release has been well worth it.

Tank you Warren and CB for exceeding my expectations with "Pulse Of The Earth"

I also look forward to plenty of episodes discussing the stories behind the songs. The one about "Balloon Girl" was quite touching.

On the format, thanks very much for going with a tangible, lossless format. Having an immediate download is a nice touch. I downloaded the high-quality AAC, even though I rip my CDs as lossless, just to save you some bandwidth. I'll rerip it as lossless when I get the CD.

I find it interesting that most of your fans demanded a CD (including me!). We must all be quality hounds!

I've now listened to the whole CD and really like it. I love the fact that you ditched your early work, buckled down away from distractions and wrote some pretty meaningful stuff. I get the Goldfrapp influence, not really in sound, but in the way you worked on this one. It's Goldfrapp's work ethic!

I hope this album reaches far and wide because it not only has a laser-focussed Hungry Lucy sound, but there's a lot of depth and sentiment to the songs. I'll write a review on iTunes when it becomes available.

I really like the art. The vignetting is nice. The wide format CD and cover look really great. It's actually quite a brilliant cover photo. The sample photos on the site are very inventive.

Great to hear both of you again and with such good news about the latest album. I look forward to hearing more about it. Regarding the question of physical CDs vs. digital, I thought long about it, and decided to put in a vote for digital. I do feel a little bad about abandoning the physical, so if you ever offer a collectors version or something, I'd be first in line to pick it up. But in terms of every day listening, high quality digital is fine with me. Thanks for reading my comment. In terms of other questions for the podcast, I'd be interested in the lyric writing process, what inspired Christa, how you fit together the words and melodies. But I imagine that will come out on a song-by-song basis.

Yay! I'm so happy you guys are resuming the podcast. I've missed your voices in my ears. And I'm excited about the new album!

Re: physical CD... I may be old-fashioned, but I still love having album art and digipacks and such. I'd happily pay $12 for a physical disc.

Glad to hear you back. I was wondering where you had gone!

I'm a collector, so I gravitate to physical CDs for audio quality and the collectable nature of physical releases. However, as I'm in Australia, shipping costs a lot. If you do go digital, you must provide a lossless version with very high quality art (high-resolution, 1000 x 1000 pixels or above, low-compression). Hope that helps.

Can't wait to hear some of the new stuff next week. Are you doing any tour dates this year as well? I haven't seen you guys play in about 3 years. way too long.
If I have to tell you what I think about pressing a physical CD or not then you don't know me very well. I'll shell out $20 for an aluminum CD if I have to. ;-).
Also sorry to be so picky but are you using a limiter while recording your podcast now? The last TWHL had stereo separation between you guys & I didn't hear a stutter in between silent bits as on this one.
