Wow, where to start? Lots of items to cover for this episode! First off, the duo converse about the final song from their album, “Pulse of the Earth“, which is titled “Hill“. Dreams are wonderful things, especially when they give back! Read Warren’s original process for creating the music.

The second item on the list was the interview HL did for the radio program “Echoes” with John Diliberto. They’ve included the entire broadcast for your enjoyment. How lovely! And yes, they have direct permission from Mr. Diliberto himself.

In OPM news, CB shares a very special musical project that she had the absolute pleasure to work on. The duo consisting of Frank Spinath (of Seabound) and Mario Schumacher, a.k.a. the band “Edge of Dawn“, have released their album “Anything That Gets You Through The Night” in Europe, and will release it in the US in June. The track Christa contributed on is “Lucid Dreams”. Another OPM, meaning media, is the film “Whole New Thing“. Definitely a must see for all Independent film lovers.

In closing, CB&W announce the renaming of the podcast and a reformatting as well. With Hungry Lucy being more on the back-burner these days, the duo decide to keep on rambling about new things going on. This is not a “disbanding announcement”, NO! Just a casual mention that HL is in a lull and needs some rest Christa and Warren hope you will continue to listen, as they have much more to say. Maybe some new jingles as well. OH, what fun!!

Stay tuned to see what new things Christa Belle and Warren will have to chat about. New books, films, technology, food, gardening…anything goes!!

Until next time, look to the future. It’s full of Cornhole!

Christa delights us with some of her recent culinary creations while Warren gets hungry for dinner.

Next time… a wrap up of the final song on the album. Where will the podcast go from there?

The slow start ramps up to a hilarious swell of bum humor, chicken comments and other random silliness.

The solid (no, not THAT solid) facts of the week were that Hungry Lucy was interviewed by John Diliberto of Echoes, which will air on the Echoes show later in June. You’ll know when when the duo know when!

Also mentioned was the release of CB’s eBook, “Days with Indigo“, available directly at www.blackbreadbox.tv for only $10. What a bargain! CB also mentions her still-functioning blog over at www.christabelle.com if you fancy a longer read about what’s been going on in her world lately. As for Warren, he’s still on the Facebook, the Twitter and over at www.hungrylucy.com . They are certainly not far from your questions, comments or other concerns you may have. Drop in and say “Hi”, or just let them know if you’re still listening to the podcast,. As they say, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…”. Share the love. Let them know if you still want your tea!

Until next time, why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it?

Who knew that two Legends could bring forth such a cool, futuristic song. And a space car to match!

CB chats about the increase in sales of her novel “Days with Indigo” and how she’s started work on the next installment of deliciousness for the Black Bread Box site. No details yet. It’s still cooking.

Warren discusses his absolute glee about Hungry Lucy being featured on Echoes not once, not twice but for a third time now! The Australian radio program/podcast Ultima Thule will also be featuring the album as well. What more could a boy ask for? Not much!

With Vanilla Poundcake resting on the baking rack, and Spaghetti Bolognese (vegetarian) on the menu, there isn’t much more that could bring huge smiles to the duo’s faces. Everything is good. Thanks for listening!

Until next time, what flavor are your balls?

In exciting, “Oh my god I can’t believe he said my name!” news, Hungry Lucy has been played not once, but TWICE on Echoes in the last week! We learn the two stories that merged to become one mass of creepy, beautiful, Mellotron-laden loveliness. Can’t we all just get along? Nope. Don’t think so.

In foodie news, CB touts her love of Nocciolata (the version of that other popular Chocolate-Hazelnut spread that hippies prefer) and the fact that she gets to spend 2+ hours in the kitchen later to make a monstrous Boca/Veggie Ragu with Rigatoni. Can you say Yum?

Warren speaks out on the “Non-Commercial” issues with download sites and HL’s new album. Lou Pole makes an annoying appearance, causing Warren to get a little irked, to say the least! If you want to truly download the new HL album for free, just go to Archive.org or Jamendo.com. I promise, they won’t mind.

Until next week, let’s all click our heels for the start of Spring!

The duo hit the ground running, and giggling, as they discuss another song from the new album, “Pulse of the Earth.” The third featured song, “The Standing ones”, is revisited through weird references, odd voices and is even described as the poor, lastly chosen flavor-ice in the freezer. The duo explain how difficult the transformation was to get the song up-to-date to meet their ever-demanding approval. CB cheers at the second draft of the second verse and Warren nods to Star Wars via trumpets and big drums. A very light-hearted, playful episode with laughter-a-plenty. Come one, come all!

It’s time for another episode of Tea with Hungry Lucy! What could they possibly have to say this week? Well, you can bet that they’re going to try and sway you to buy their fantastically beautiful new album, “Pulse of the Earth“, for only $15 short dollars! And, why not? It’s “Airy-Fairy meets Dark and Scary”. Who wouldn’t want that?

CB reads the story behind this week’s song, “Bumble”, which she wrote down in the cabin shortly after hearing Warren’s musical workings. Warren fills us all in on his inspirational figure, David Lynch, and how DL set the “tone” for the first part of the song’s work. All in all, a fascinating turn of events for one of the duo’s favorite tracks off the new album. Rabbit heads and all, it’s just a bunch of fun.

Warren goes on to speak highly of a Brian Eno documentary film, “Arena: Another Green World“, and CB spills forth goodness about a film called “Humble Pie“. It’s a good-for-you episode, full of all sorts of yum-yums, vitamins and cheese. Don’t forget the cheese!

Until next week, try your best not to run over any animals. It hurts!

Not only does CB talk, and talk…and TALK about the photography in the cd artwork, but Warren tells all on how to get the album, “Pulse of the Earth”, RIGHT NOW!!

The featured new track of the week, the first of ten, is “Balloon Girl”. Named in part for the memory of a dearly departed fan, (known as “The Carnival” on the HL Shoutout message board). This track exudes a rich, colorful, even playful, backdrop of darkly bright happiness. You can almost see the Not-So-Merry-Go-Round spinning, painted animals-a-plenty, with the Balloon Girl and all of her devoted companions at her side. She is never alone, nor will she ever be. The Balloon Girl is always with us. Always.

Until next week, when Hungry Lucy will bring you another story behind the song, enjoy the new album. Stay happy. Stay focused. Stay brave!

They’re back! After nearly a year and a half, Hungry Lucy return to the podcasting world with great news! Finally, Warren and Christa Belle announce the title of their new album, “Pulse of the Earth”, and discuss the writing/recording process. No previews yet, but it’s definitely worth one more week of waiting.

Amongst the writing and recording of the album, Christa Belle shares some fantastic news. CB has written her first novel, “Days with Indigo”, which will be released shortly behind the new HL album. Brilliant! Can you sense a combo-pack in the making?

It would seem that Warren and Christa Belle are no doubt back in business after a much needed quiet spell of creating and exploring the musical world. The new album is indeed a tribute to quietude, solace and what happens when you allow the music to speak to you, not the other way around. As the duo discovered, you can’t force a good song. You must be patient. Patience pays off…BIG TIME!

Until next week, prepare your ears and eyes for a fabulous treat! Can you feel the pulse?

Truth is, I (War-N) am gone for 12-hour days during the week so the weekend is Hungry Lucy time. That said, we are making great progress and these songs are our strongest material to date. We are cutting no corners for this album. If it’s not 100% awesome, it’s no good.

As you may recall, we got to a point last year… or was it 2 years ago (blimey) where we had an album’s worth of songs, but only a few that we truly loved. So, we trashed them all and started again. It’s possible (though unlikely) that these songs will see the light of day sometime. But, if their not great… why bother, right?

So, what we have at the moment is ten bloody good songs. Nine of these are arranged, recorded and in the final mix stage. That’s the point where we get even more picky and nothing is quite good enough. It’s the point where every slight adjustment can produce a thousand permutations of the same thing. It’s the point we have to get over ourselves and recognize that it’s the song, the story that counts. Pick one permutation and commit to it. As any of you “perfectionists” out there can attest to, this is easier said than done. But, it shall be done. The tenth song is one that just came about one night as we tinkered. It came to be a beautiful combination of Tori Amos and Fever Ray and we loved it. It needs everything done to complete it… it shall be done.

So… timing? Not yet. How’s that for avoidance? But… we’re edging ever close… and you’ll be the first to know. Thanks for listening. Thanks for waiting.
